Notice of Public Hearing 10-01-2019 Amendments to the Town Zoning Ordinance

TOWN OF WESTON

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

AMENDMENTS TO THE TOWN ZONING ORDINANCE

Chapter 94 of the Town of Weston Municipal Code

The Town of Weston Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, commencing at 6:00 p.m., in the Municipal Court Room at the Weston Public Safety Building, located at 5301 Mesker Street, Weston, WI 54476.  The purpose of the public hearing is to allow all interested parties to be heard concerning a number of amendments to, or the repeal and recreation of, the Town’s Zoning ordinance.

The Zoning ordinance regulates the use of land and divides the Town into several different zoning districts, as represented on the zoning map that is part of the ordinance.  The Town undertook the effort to repeal and reenact this ordinance to incorporate several changes since the Town adopted it in its current form in December 2015.  The proposed amendments now under consideration address several text changes to address state and federal law changes, including but not limited to the handling of conditional uses.  The proposed text amendments also respond to local experience in using a fully updated ordinance since its 2015 adoption. There are no proposed zoning map changes.

Written testimony may be forwarded to the Town of Weston Plan Commission, Jennifer Higgins, Town Zoning Administrator, 5500 Schofield Avenue, Weston, WI  54476, or e-mailed to jhiggins@westonwi.gov, by noon on the day of the public hearing.  All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.  Any person with questions or planning to attend needing special accommodations in order to participate should call the Town Clerk, at 715-241-8209.
